Quantifying the effectiveness of COVID-19-related public health interventions to reduce transmission is key to successful policy making. Health Intervention Tracking for COVID-19 (HIT-COVID) is a curated and standardized global database of the implementation and relaxation of 38 interventions—including border restrictions, school closures, mandatory facemask use, and household confinement—all of which can be mapped to infection rates. Abt’s Giulia Norton contributes to the data collection, which details interventions at the smallest relevant administrative unit, such as in a U.S. state or Chinese province.
