Expanding Our Impact

Mexico’s economic growth is hindered by a lack of government transparency and issues with corruption. The Abt-led Mexico Economic Policy Program (MEPP) provided resources enabling local governments to upload data on easy-to-use, online public platforms. This helped improve transparency while also identifying instances of collusion and enforcing Mexico’s competition laws. We also worked on the Mexico Competiveness Program (MCP), designing systems to find rational and efficient uses for the country’s natural resources. Our research addressed reducing greenhouse gas emissions, establishing environmental management practices and managing climate change adaptation.
