Dr. Abdoulaye Bangoura is a trained veterinarian and a global public health professional with more than 12 years of experience working in the design, implementation, management, monitoring, and evaluation of global health programs. He has worked around the world, including Haiti, the United States, China and seven countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
As Chief of Party of the PMI VectorLink Project in Malawi, Dr. Bangoura and his team work with the National Malaria Control Programs of Malawi to implement malaria vector control interventions including indoor residual spraying (IRS), entomological vector surveillance, and insecticide-treated nets, and provide technical support to other implementing partners in Malawi to reduce the burden of malaria.
Prior to becoming COP for the PMI Vectorlink project in Malawi, Dr. Bangoura worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) specialist on the project, where he provided technical support to the M&E system by designing data collection, analysis, management, and storage to support project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Previously, Dr. Bangoura worked for Chemonics International on the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management project as a procurement planning & monitoring report analyst. In that position he oversaw training, data collection, and analysis, database management, reporting, funder relations and communication for 16 countries and 36 projects. He has also worked at Save the Children International, Africare, The George Washington University, and at Victoire ONG in Bamako, Mali.
