Chris Grier, Vice President, Legal leads the global legal team including its strategy, talent, resources, systems and operations. He is also data protection officer globally, Brisbane office steward and the company secretary of Abt Global Australia and Abt Global Britain.
Chris is a values-driven senior executive with extensive experience in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States at leading international law firms and major corporations. Before joining Abt, he was a senior attorney with the law firm Ashurst, where he specialised in international transactions and regulatory advice across Asia Pacific for government, financial institution, corporate and not-for-profit clients. Prior to that, he was a senior corporate counsel with the public company Aurizon and an attorney with the law firm Norton Rose Fulbright in London.
Chris has a deep commitment to supporting organisations empowering people experiencing disadvantage. His pro bono clients included the Aboriginal Legal Services and Orange Sky in Australia. His volunteer experience includes directorship of the Investing in Women Foundation Limited and senior mentoring roles for the University of Queensland and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
