The convergence of multiple socio-economic shocks—COVID-19, the war in Ukraine, global inflation, and climate instability—has driven hunger to record levels, undermining a decade’s worth of global advances in food security and nutrition. Agile improvements to agricultural productivity and market systems are essential for countries to overcome these hurdles and improve resilience to future shocks through enhanced livelihoods and better dietary health. Abt’s tailored services enable agricultural stakeholders to identify and address key constraints. We focus on those preventing full participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups who can make the difference in food availability, demand, and use. We facilitate locally led solutions to foster resilient food systems that are inclusive, nutrition-sensitive, market-oriented, and climate-smart. Abt’s research and evaluation expertise informs all activities with evidence and learning.
