Seattle Times: HUD reports record-high homeless count in 2023 for U.S., WA
Abt’s Meghan Henry was recently quoted in The Seattle Times’ coverage of the Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR). The 2023 AHAR showed a dramatic 12-percent increase in homelessness overall, the largest since 2007. Henry, who is the project director for AHAR, pointed out that the data in the Part 1 2023 AHAR reflect point-in-time numbers, thus every data point is a minimum estimate of who is experiencing homelessness in America.
