Abt Global Awarded Climate Registered™ Platinum Status and Joins Ranks of U.S. Climate Leaders
Rockville, Md. – Abt Global has been awarded Climate Registered™ Platinum status by The Climate Registry, a nonprofit organization that operates the Carbon Footprint Registry. The Carbon Footprint Registry is North America’s largest voluntary registry for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Abt earned this recognition by publicly reporting a third-party verified GHG emissions inventory for its operations. The data enables Abt to track climate initiatives and GHG reductions credibly over time.
“Abt is committed to doing our part to keep global warming to 1.5°C–including reducing our emissions 33% by 2025 from 2019 levels and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050,” said Abt President and CEO Kathleen Flanagan. “This award confirms that we are taking the steps needed to reach these goals.”
“Organizations that become Climate Registered™ are the leaders in a growing movement to address climate change by managing and reducing emissions at the subnational level,” said The Climate Registry Executive Director Amy Holm. “We have just over a decade to take action that will ensure we avoid the worst effects of climate change. This kind of leadership is needed now more than ever.”
The Climate Registry designs and operates voluntary and compliance GHG reporting programs globally and helps organizations measure, report, and verify the carbon in their operations to manage and reduce it.
