Senior Director, Infectious and Vector Borne Diseases

Caroline Connolly, senior director of infectious and vector-borne diseases, has two decades of experience in global health programs. She uses her extensive knowledge of infectious and vector-borne diseases to develop integrated programs in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, infectious disease management, systems strengthening, and service integration. Connolly has held leadership roles in various sectors, including non-profits, public, and the private sector. She has worked in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the U.S., collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to strengthen global health initiatives. Her clients have included the U.S. Agency for International Development, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Departments of State and Labor, Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Global Fund, European Union, UNICEF, U.N. Development Programme, and Swedish International Development Cooperation.

Connolly leads Abt Global's efforts to combat infectious and vector-borne diseases. She works in Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Tanzania, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Zambia, South Africa, and Burma.

Before joining Abt, Connolly worked at Kantar Public, where she was CEO of the International Development Practice. At Cardno, she was a principal working on global development. During her career, she oversaw offices and programs in over 30 countries, managing budgets of up to $500 million. She also has worked for the U.S. Agency for International Development, Deloitte, and Pathfinder.
