Expanding Our Impact

Despite pre-pandemic economic growth, India still faces significant social and health challenges. The Abt-led SHOPS Plus project catalyzes public-private engagement in eight states to increase the use of maternal, neonatal and child health, family planning, and tuberculosis treatment products and services. Our corporate partners have contributed $1.5M to our social and behavior change work. Abt also worked with the Gates and Packard Foundations to use technology to counsel women about injectable contraceptives. The project helped 65 percent of women continue to use the contraceptives to their second dose. Among those women, more than 70 percent continued to their third dose.
