Hoai B. Huynh

Vice President – Climate Change, Energy & Environment in Corporate Growth Office

Bio

Hoai B. Huynh has more than 25 years of experience in energy, environment, engineering, policy, and program management in the U.S. and internationally. He has worked in the U.S. government, consulting, aerospace and defense industry, and non-profit sectors. He also has had experience leading corporate strategy and growth efforts at Abt Global, Deloitte, AECOM, ICF, and CDM Smith. He has worked for such clients as U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Millennium Challenge Corporation, the World Bank, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.   

As vice president for Climate Change, Energy, and Environment (CE&E) in Abt’s Corporate Growth Office, Huynh is working to expand Abt’s work in these sectors and collaborate with Abt’s sector and portfolio teams to create differentiated solutions for CE&E businesses in the U.S. and international markets.

Prior to his current role, Huynh led the Technical Assistance and Implementation Capability within Abt’s Solutions Organization, which focused on delivering high-quality solutions for our healthcare and environment and natural resources clients. He worked to adapt and scale solutions to go to market and grow Abt’s footprint globally in key sectors. 

Huynh joined Abt from Deloitte Consulting, where he was a specialist leader in its International Development Organization, managing programs and spearheading Deloitte’s growth in the water and climate change sectors and contributing to the growth of the energy sectors. 

He has served as an air pollution enforcement officer and a program manager for Europe and Eurasia, respectively, in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Region 4 and Office of International Affairs. At Counterpart International, he implemented humanitarian assistance and environmental programs in Southeast Asia, Ukraine, and the Caucasus. He also led AECOM’s international Climate Change and Environmental Practices. As a strategic hire, he led early development and the growth of ICF’s international energy, environment, and transportation group practice and managed several USAID-funded international projects. Based in Viet Nam, Huynh was the Asia Director for CDM Smith, managing environmental and energy projects in Viet Nam and Indonesia, and he led Asia growth initiatives. 

At the Aerospace Industries Association, Huynh represented the aerospace and defense industries on environmental, climate change, and compliance issues in the U.S. and internationally. As its vice president for Emerging Markets and Sustainability, Huynh led the substantial growth of Green Powered Technology, a veteran-owned small business in the domestic and international energy and engineering sectors.
