Denis Sinzinkayo
Chief of Party, PMI Evolve Burundi
Dr. Denis Sinzinkayo is a medical doctor with a decade’s worth of experience working in both public and private hospitals as well as serving as a district medical officer and the deputy director of the National Malaria Control Program of the Ministry of Public Health in Burundi.Dr. Sinzinkayo currently serves as the Chief of Party (COP) on the Abt-led U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative Evolving Vector Control to Fight Malaria Project (PMI Evolve) in Burundi. He works with the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) to strengthen its capacity to conduct vector surveillance activities and provide assistance on government-led vector control activities. He also coordinates bi-monthly entomological surveys across nine sentinel sites in Burundi.

Jules Nahimana
Chief of Party, PMI Evolve Rwanda
Jules Nahimana is a health program manager with almost two decades of experience working in the public health sector. He has worked extensively on malaria vector control programs, especially those implementing indoor residual spraying (IRS), in countries including Burkina Faso, Malawi, Mozambique, and Rwanda. In these roles, he has worked with many high-level organizations including the Ministries of Health (MOH) and the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI).

Dereje Dengela
Principal Associate, PMI Evolve Project, Ethiopia
Dereje Dengela is an epidemiologist and entomologist with more than 25 years of experience in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of malaria control programs. He has extensive managerial experience, having supervised as many as 94 professionals. He has held senior positions with the government of Ethiopia, worked on projects for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and served as a national malaria program officer in Ethiopia. He supported the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia in mobilization of financial resources from donors, particularly the Global Fund. Dengela has authored or co-authored more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Rodrigue Anagonou
Chief of Party, PMI Evolve, Togo
Rodrigue Anagonou is a medical entomologist with 16 years of experience working on multiple projects for the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), and other publicly funded projects in western Africa and the Caribbean. Anagonou’s expertise is in managing indoor residual spraying (IRS) and insecticide-treated nets projects.

Mbogo Bunyi
Senior Private Sector Advisor, Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) Plus Project, East Africa
Mbogo Bunyi is a development professional with more than 20 years of experience working in global health and private sector engagement in East Africa. As a technical advisor, he has worked closely with national and sub-national governments, corporations, and development partners to improve health outcomes. He has facilitated key public-private partnerships to overcome obstacles to private-sector participation, building stronger health markets for family planning and HIV in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. Bunyi has supported innovative solutions in health financing, private investment for social enterprises, and health care policy.
