The Alliance for LGBTQI+ Inclusive Development (ALID) is excited to invite colleagues to our November Summit hosted by Abt Global. Just a few weeks after the US election, we will explore lessons learned, best practices, and emerging strategies for anticipating, adapting to, and protecting both LGBTQ-inclusive development and the work of local, regional, and global partners amidst shifting political realities.

From the Mexico City Policy, faith-based influence under a conservative administration, enduring criminalization of HIV and sex work, to broader debates around how “empowered integration” might either protect or dismantle LGBTQ-focused care, this program will explore how the HIV/AIDS movement weathers political shifts and policy evolution.

The Alliance for LGBTQI+ Inclusive Development (ALID, pronounced as “allied”) represents members from leading international development organizations including Abt Global, Chemonics, DAI, Deloitte, OutRight, Save the Children, Society For International Development, Tetratech, and many others. Each share a vision of and commitment to strengthening inclusive development outcomes for communities, stakeholders, and staff of diverse sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) as well as mainstreaming an inclusive lens that elevates the perspectives, experiences, and expertise of individuals of diverse SOGIESC across development sectors.
