The 2021 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (ASTMH)
Abt Global works around the world to counter threats against Covid-19, HIV/AIDS, influenza, malaria, Zika, and other tropical and infectious diseases. We have initiatives to detect, prevent, control, and treat these diseases and share our data to help monitor risks to global health security. We closely collaborate with global communities, local governments, and community leaders to continue the great progress toward groundbreaking disease detection and surveillance, evidence-based prevention and containment, and recovery responses.
This Annual Meeting is the premier forum for the exchange of scientific advances in tropical medicine, global health, and hygiene, and one in which Abt Global is proud to be presenting a series of posters and panels. Learn more:
Symposium 12 | Thursday, November 18 | 8:00 – 9:45 a.m. | Online
Entomological Data to Guide Strategic Deployment of New Types of Insecticide Treated Nets for Control of Pyrethroid Resistant Malaria Vectors
Organizers: Matt Kirby/Richard Oxborough, PMI VectorLink Project, Abt Global
This symposium focuses on solutions to one of the biggest threats facing malaria vector control: insecticide resistance. The World Health Organization states that if left unchecked, insecticide resistance could lead to a substantial increase in malaria incidence and mortality. Topics include how countries in sub-Saharan Africa are responding to this threat by determining where to distribute new types of ITNs for maximum impact. Abt’s presentations include:
