EMPower Breastfeeding: Enhancing Maternity Practices (EMPower) is a multi-year initiative funded by CDC’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity (DNPAO) to support hospital-based quality improvement (QI) focusing on maternity practices. The initiative facilitates safe implementation of the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and hospital progress towards the Baby-Friendly USA® (BFUSA) Designation by providing technical assistance tailored to hospital needs coupled with tools and resources developed by breastfeeding and QI coaches that support the hospital’s journey.
