Climate Change Integration Specialist

Ally Lynch has nine years of experience managing international development and humanitarian projects in the Asia Pacific region. She has led programming across a range of impact areas, including nature-based solutions for climate, food security, livelihoods, climate resilience, and disaster risk reduction. She is skilled at managing complex international community development and conservation projects in Asia and the Pacific. She has led projects associated with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water (DCCEEW), Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP), and World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

In her role as Abt’s Climate Change Integration Specialist based in Canberra, Australia, Ally supports colleagues to integrate climate considerations into health, governance, and education programs for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). She collaborates with experts in Australia and the Indo Pacific to deploy nature-based solutions that harness the power of natural ecosystems to address the interrelated challenges of biodiversity loss, climate change and sustainable development.

Before joining Abt, Ally served as programming lead for the DFat-funded Climate Resilient by Nature initiative at WWF Australia. She oversaw implementation and management of 10 complex nature-based solutions projects in the Pacific and Mekong Delta. Ally has worked in various roles across Australia’s international development sector and has held technical specialist roles within large civil society organizations, as well as implementing roles on DFAT-funded people-to-people and climate programs in the Pacific and Asia.
